What is Waterless-Wash?

Wait, how can I wash my car without water? Isn't that what a wash is all about? Water? Well.... yes. But, with the push for more eco-friendly products, the detailing industry came up with something to help, waterless-wash. It's a spray on, wipe off product that lifts dirt and dust from your paint with the light wiping action of a quality thick microfiber towel. Using a special blend of cleaners to break the dirt from the paint, and slick polymers to let your towel glide across it (without grinding that dirt back in), waterless-washes are the perfect choices for a car that stays fairly clean, but just needs a light washing. The waterless-wash is also perfect for areas where car wash runoff may be prohibited (apartment complexes, office parking lots, parking garages, etc). I personally use a waterless-wash on my vehicles when they just need that 'dust off' cleaning and not a total scrub down. It saves me a bunch of time and products. To use a waterless-wash, lightly mist a good layer of product onto a cool dry panel of your vehicle. Do remember, when you use a waterless-wash, you MUST use a good microfiber towel. Select a thick, plush, clean towel, fold it into quarters, then with a light wiping action, 'sweep' your towel across your paint (side to side). Don't push hard or 'buff', as you risk pushing the grim and dirt into your paint. Continue to perform this wiping action, side to side and then top to bottom, around your car, flipping your towel to a clean and fresh side every so often. When your car is done, you can use a separate, wheels only, towel and clean the rims of your vehicle. When complete your paint should be looking popping fresh and shiny!

Waterless-washes can be performed as often as desired. Follow them up with a quick detailer, or a spray on/wipe off wax or sealant. Don't forget though, every 3 months (or less in harsh climates) your paint will need a fresh coat of wax, so use the 2 bucket wash method to give your paint a good deep clean before waxing.
